New CCIE Logos Coming Soon?

Cisco is looking at replacing the current CCIE logo with a new design.  They are looking for input from current CCIEs.  Pop on over to Tassos’ blog to check out the proposed designs.

I agree with Tassos that the first design is better, although it looks more like a film festival award logo than an IT certification logo.

—UPDATE—

I guess that I should read my email more closely.  🙂  Even as a mere CCNP I was invited to vote on the designs.  Here are the two designs that are being proposed.  I voted for the first design.  I don’t think that either are great designs for the CCIE, but BOTH are improvements on the current CCNx logo.

Check your inbox and make sure that you vote for the design that you prefer.

  1. CCDA Design? Why not CCNA Design?

If Cisco wants to make the Design track “special” with its own designation like CCDE, then change CCNP Design back to what it was – CCDP Design.

Dude…Cisco got to stop wasting $$$ on the logo redesign and put that fund back into giving a half-decent CCIE plaque…Seriously!!!

  2. I thing the old CCIE logos are much better than both of these proposals, but for the CCNP, CCNA logos the proposals are much much better.

I’m also a CCNP, were all CCNP’s allowed to vote?
btw: great blog, I’ve learned alot here 🙂

  6. This smacks of a new manager/director trying to justify their existence. The survey doesn’t give you a chance to score “keep the old freakin’ logo!” at all. There’s nothing wrong with the classic look of the existing CCIE logo thst cleaner graphics wouldn’t fix.

This would be the what, third generation logo for the NP/DP tracks?

  8. @LL – I didn’t even notice that they had done away with the CCxP format. You’re right though, to keep it consistent just make it CCNA Design.

  9. You ask why they call it CCDA not CCNA Design?
Check the differences between CCDA vs. CCNA Network and for example CCNA Wireless vs. CCNA Network again. The second pair has a lot in common plus Security track has some security improvements. CCDA and CCNA are totally different. Additionally, to get CCDA you need to be CCNA already.
To get CCNA Wireless you don’t need to be CCNA Network etc.

  12. Keep the old designs. These just plain suck in my opinion. As a ten year CCIE I just like the original.
