The posting has an interesting interesting bit:

Current customers please note, this announcement will not affect the status of our Investment Protection Program. All previous, current, and future purchases are still protected under this plan!

I’ll tune in Thursday to see what the announcement is but based on the wording I am hopeful that this means that IE is going to launch Version 5 of the Routing and Switching Class On Demand.

  1. I am pretty good at guessing most of the time but this one I have NO CLUE about. From the wording, it appears that the pricing IS going up for sure.

On a side note- have you started ur R&S labs again ?

  2. @CCIETalk – Crap. I didn’t think about a price increase. 😦

I’ve started working through the Volume 1 v5 labs as well as doing a lot of reading. It’s been harder than I thought it would be to get back into the swing of studying. Work should slow down soon and I’ll be able to get more time in. I still haven’t scheduled a second attempt yet. As soon as I can clear out a couple of weeks from work, I’ll schedule another attempt.

  4. well,

if i can guess, three of the five ccie instructors at internetworkexpert did the ccde exam.

so the big announcement is that they all PASSED.

  5. I don’t think it is related to CCDE. According to Cisco, CCDE results won’t be available for another week or so.

Well countdown begins now.. let’s see what happens tomorrow.

  6. Another thing the Brians have said is that this is a good thing for US.
Now if it was a matter of the guys being CCDE’s although that is great news for them (and we’d be pleased for them of course), that is not something that would warrant a major announcement in the form of an online webcast.

    Can you see it?
OK guys well err thanks for attending this online webcast.
Well…we are all CCDE’s! Isnt that great!
OK thats it, thanks and cya around!

If there is a price increase (likely, although I can’t see how that would make IE more attractive as opposed to the other vendors), there must be some heavy &*^% being introduced…

I’m inclined to go with you here pursuit on a vers 5 cod.
But if they then increase the price significantly, I cant see too many people being “happy” about such a thing.

    Anyway time tells all.

  7. Brad Reese thinks Cisco is gonna buy IE. I think Brad’s being a little provocative. 😉

  8. Brad Reese is the spoon that stirs the pot on Network World :). Would be insane though if he were right…

  9. Hmmm… if I remember well in your bootcamp they talked about changing IEWB Vol 3 to Vol 2, Vol 2 would be Vol 3 and the introduction of a new Vol 4… Plus CoD v5… that would be my personal bet!

Regarding Cisco actually buying IE, I dont think so… if they were going to buy someone that should be NMC, as far as they will use NMC products… They “may” or “may not” partnership with IE in order to teach the products…

Anyway… if IE is going for Cisco 360, that is a step back! If somebody actually wanted NMC products, they would purchase NMC and not IE…

IE materials are AWESOME, and they should stick to it, developing and getting it even better!

    Thats my two cents…
