Internetwork Expert: Advanced Technologies DVD Releasing Tomorrow

It looks like the DVD version of Internetwork Expert’s Advanced Technologies class will be released tomorrow:

Internetwork Expert is proud to announce that orders for our R&S Advanced Technologies Class-on-Demand DVD’s will begin to be taken on April 11th, 2008; and will begin shipping on April 14th, 2008. This much-anticipated release will initially be available in limited quantities; however if there are any backorders, you will be contacted by email after you place your order.

The DVD Class-on-Demand is designed to be compatible in any PC or Mac computer; and requires QuickTime Player in order to play properly. The DVD will not work in a normal home-theater DVD system, please be advised of that when you place your order.  A link for placing the order will be on our front page beginning April 11th!

It looks like we’ll need to wait until tomorrow to get pricing (and to see if there’s a discount for current subscribers).

Update 12 April: The price for the DVD series is $1195 and current subscribers can purchase it for $199.

As I mentioned in my previous post, this is nice for users that may have downtime where they don’t have access to the Internet (like a commute) but it also is a bit risky as I’m sure that file trading sites will be quick to rip these DVDs.

Update 12 April: It looks like they have the file-sharing issue covered:

The DVD format of the Class-on-Demand utilizes a highly-secure watermarking system which embeds a unique serial number in the video stream of the DVD. This process limits production speed for the DVD’s, and therefore they are available in limited quantities and are excluded from our “Same-Day Shipping” guarantee. If your DVD’s cannot be shipped within one business day of the placement of your order; you will be contacted by email with an estimated arrival date. You will also have access to the electronic version, which can be used immediately after purchase.

The second volume of the Dynamips Lab Workbook is also available now.  These are Volume II labs that have been converted to work on Dynamips.  Each workbook (10 labs each) costs $195 or $99 if you already own the “conventional” Volume II workbook.

  1. so looks like they announced the price….$1195 – I didnt see that one coming.

I am waiting to find out if there is any discount for people who have bought the online version previously, but I was thinking a more like a $50 upgrade for that 😉

  2. @ccielab – It’s not currently listed on the IE website, but I found a link on my IEATC subscription to purchase the DVD series. It looks like the cost is $199 for current subscribers.
